Barada Barna Aboriginal Corporation (BBAC) objectives include the maintenance and support of Country, traditions, lore, language and culture as well as the provision of economic, social and cultural benefits, including housing, support and education to the Barada Barna People.
Our projects include partnering with business entities to supply training and employment opportunities as well as community-oriented ventures and community services to support our people.
Our history is deeply rooted in the legacy of the Barada Barna People, reflecting the values of respect for country, community empowerment, and cultural heritage. Our commitment to preserving the land and protecting sacred sites is inspired by the dedication of our ancestors, like the late Uncle Frank Budby, Uncle Cecil Brown Jnr, Uncle Norman Brown, and Uncle Les Budby Jnr, who fought to safeguard our cultural heritage. We honour our role as Traditional Owners by ensuring our work respects the environment and supports the cultural and economic wellbeing of our community.
Our purpose is to build capability within the Barada Barna community by creating opportunities for employment, education, and business development. We are driven by the perseverance and resilience demonstrated throughout the Barada Barna People’s journey to achieve Consent Determination in 2016. We uphold these values in every project, operating with integrity, accountability, and a strong focus on collaboration, ensuring our actions align with the best interests of our people and the land we protect.
